1LOVE T.O. “City On My Fitted”

Our favourite Toronto community leaders & Blog 1 LOVE T.O. recently launched a new website. Prior to the re-design they launched their “City On My Fitted” video, showing love for the city of Toronto and the Toronto Blue Jays. Some of the popular faces; good friend and blog contributor Kwame Delfish, Blogger Karla Moy, Legends League among various others.

The symbol on your hat has always had a significance, whether you’re a fan of the team, or simply supporting your city. With that in mind, we decided to show some love for our Toronto Blue Jays (and the city we love), by inviting some of our friends to wear their favorite New Era 59Fifty and/or Snapback hats. This stop-motion video features a variety of logos and designs, including everything from the original Jays logo to the ’92-’93 World Series cap, plus the newly redesigned 2012 official logo.

Thanks to Essential Homme magazine, I visited the opening of the first G-Star clothing store in Toronto. The private opening played host to some of Canada’s entertainment artist, sports & film industry professionals. Guests included; Canadian Singer Kreesha Turner, Rapper J Diggz, ‘Down With Webster’, MuchMusic hosts Jesse Giddings and Liz Trinnear, actors Daniel Desanto, Lee Rumohr, Samantha Munro, hockey players Jay Rosehill and Joey Crabb. The intimate, well stocked 3800 square foot space fit perfectly on Queen Street. Signature G-Star Raw Denim Jeans aligned the store walls, while perfectly selected women’s jackets & jumpers filled the floor space. My personal favourite the Correct Line NY Griff Suit (shown below).

It was a great evening; DJ, drinks with a couple of friends (all between 7-9pm…lol).

Great fun but a little unfortunate mishap. The beautiful photos seen here, were the remaining saved photo’s from the original batch (somehow the originals were lost or destroyed…another post, another story). What sucks, I was having a Time Magazine moment. I captured amazing photo’s of Director/Producer Mike Ward (Look-A-Like, Healthy Gourmet) whom, I met and chatted with, while waiting in line for the washroom (an unlikely meeting spot..lol). After taking a few amazing! shots (If I do say so myself) and convincing Mr. Ward that he looked sharp enough to be in GQ (seriously guys)….I have no photo’s of Mr. Ward. Except for this one I found online….sorry Mike (but the suit was extremely well tailored) :(

So besides, the one photo mishap. G-Star Toronto (328 Queen Street West), was a success. Don’t forget to check out the store, the only one located in Toronto. Open for business!

Abandon All Ships feat A-Game.

A-Game rocks out with Heavy Metal Band Abandon All Ships. Not your typical collabo for A-Game but that’s the key to success, isn’t it? Take your talents to a point that it allows you to cross over. I’m not sure I can get with the screaming but all-in-all, A-Game’s verse fits in with the overall chorus……..not bad at all.

A-Game “Cool Boyz”

Toronto’s twosome aka A-Game recently released the visuals for their recent hit “Cool Boyz”, produced by T-Minus, directed by Cazhhmere of The Ne inc. The single (from their successful 1988 mixtape) featured Bad Boy recording artist Red Cafe on the remix. The remix landed on Red Cafe’s mixtape ‘Hells Kitchen’. The “Cool Boyz” video also received an award at this year’s Reel World Film Festival for Outstanding Music Video.

Soccer for The Homeless. May 6th 2012

It’s funny how the simplest things in life can change your life dramatically. The independantly-funded documentary Street Soccer: New York, follows a New York team of homeless men, during their preparation for the 2009 Street Soccer USA Cup. The film, documents the various trails and tribulations of the team during their preparation for Soccer Cup and the assistance the team receives in finding employment, suitable living conditions and reconnecting with family members.

By May 6th, Street Soccer: New York is hoping to raise at least $10,000 of donated monies. The donation will allow the film to be funded further, to complete the project.

It All Belongs To Me.

We’ve all heard the buzz of Brandy and Monica teaming up again for “The Boy is Mine 2″. I just happened to catch the visuals for their single and I like it. Honestly, I didn’t get all excited of the two ladies collaborating again. As I wasn’t a true fan of the “Boy is Mine” but these ladies are all grown up now. This time, instead of fighting over who gets the boy, these R & B Divas cut loose their “misbehaved” men.

Gentlemen, you can’t act the fool and want to keep the goodies…..these ladies will cut you loose and take back the MacBook.
